A study on the effect of uva ursi in women found at the end of one year that 22 of 27 in the placebo group and 30 of 30 women who took uva ursi had maintained a healthy urinary tract. Echinacea and berberine are added to Uristatin for additional beneficial effects, and buchu has a particular affinity for the urinary tract where it can help soothe inflamed tissues.
Recommended Use or Purpose: Used in herbal medicine as supportive therapy in the management of the symptoms of mild urinary infections and to help relieve symptoms associated with minor urinary tract infections (such as burning sensation and/or frequent urination). Traditionally used in herbal medicine as a mild diuretic.
Recommended Dose (Adults):Take 2 capsules two times daily or as recommended by a healthcare practitioner. For occasional use only. Consult a health-care practitioner for use beyond 1 week. Take a few hours before or after taking other medications or natural health products. Take with food to avoid gastrointestinal upset.
