Douglas – Opti-EPA Enteric-Coated

Opti-EPA^™ Enteric-Coated softgels supply significant amounts of essential omega-3 fatty acids, derived from marine lipid concentrate. Processed by molecular distillation, each softgel provides 330 mg of EPA and 170 mg of DHA. Opti-EPA^™ is enteric-coated, significantly reducing the –fishy” taste sometimes associated with marine lipid supplements.
Typical diets in developed countries deliver large amounts of saturated and polyunsaturated omega-6 acids, while providing low levels of omega-3 fatty acids. A healthy balance of dietary omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids appears necessary for the maintenance of good health. Unlike dietary omega-6 fatty acids, EPA and DHA serve as precursors for the anti-inflammatory prostaglandins E1 and E3, and decrease the formation of pro-inflammatory cytokines.
In addition to decreasing arthritic symptoms, the ability of fish oil to support the body’s normal inflammatory processes plays an important role in cardiovascular health.
