Indigenous to North America and well-suited to cold climates, the witch hazel shrub-like tree is part of the landscape in the northeastern US and the forests of Quebec. Native Americans used its twigs in healing potions for swelling and inflammation. At some point in the 18th century, the shrub was exported to Europe. Witch hazel floral water (technically a hydrosol) is beneficial to sub-cutaneous circulation and especially useful for delicate and sensitive skin types. With its skin toning and purifying properties, witch hazel is an unmatched astringent for oily and mixed skin types, known for calming overactive skin and tightening pores.

POSOLOGY

Apply on the skin after cleansing as a day or night cream as a toning lotion to soothe redness. For oily, mixed or acne-prone skin, diffuse it onto the skin. Do not rinse.

USAGE

Calming and soothing for sensitive, delicate or irritated skin. A tonic astringent which purifies skin types that are mixed and/or oily.
