Douglas – Ascorbplex 1000 Buffered

Ascorbplex^® 1000 Buffered is a high potency vitamin C supplement specially buffered with calcium, magnesium and potassium, which help to minimize stomach irritation associated with the acidity of many vitamin C preparations. Ascorbplex^® 1000 Buffered also contains bioflavonoids, which have been shown in increase the bioavailability of vitamin C in supplemental form compared to vitamin C taken alone.

Vitamin C is among the most powerful antioxidants in humans. Vitamin C is a water-soluble antioxidant that can react directly with superoxide and hydroxyl radicals to decrease potential damage to cells within the body. In addition, vitamin C interacts with glutathione and alpha-lipoic acid, and can regenerate the antioxidant potential of vitamin E. Vitamin C helps in the development and maintenance of bones, cartilage, teeth and gums. In bone, Vitamin C helps form collagen in the bone matrix while scavenging free radicals that can be detrimental to bones.
